Our Commitment to Safety

Medical Disclaimer
Terra is an educational framework. It is not a medical treatment, diagnosis, or cure. The information provided on this website and within the program is for educational purposes only. It does not replace professional medical advice.
No member of the Terra team is a licensed physician. We do not provide medical advice. We do not prescribe treatments. We do not recommend stopping or adjusting any medication. Any changes to medication must be made under the supervision of a qualified healthcare provider.
Eligibility Review
Because the Terra program involves fasting, mineral supplementation, and dietary changes, we require an eligibility review before enrollment. This review is conducted to identify potential contraindications and to ensure that participants are aware of the risks.
The eligibility review includes questions about health history, current medications, and previous experiences with fasting. We may ask follow-up questions. We reserve the right to decline enrollment if we determine that the program is not appropriate for an applicant's situation.
Eligibility review does not constitute medical clearance. We strongly recommend that all applicants discuss their intention to fast with their own healthcare provider before beginning.
Who Should Not Fast
Fasting is not appropriate for everyone. The following groups should not fast:
- Pregnant or nursing women
- Individuals with a BMI below 18.5 (underweight)
- Individuals with a history of eating disorders
- Individuals with type 1 diabetes
- Children and adolescents
These contraindications are based on established medical guidelines for fasting. If you fall into any of these categories, please do not apply for the program. Basic terrain restoration using Rift Valley Alkaline salt without fasting may still be appropriate, but consult your healthcare provider first.
Who Requires Medical Supervision
The following groups should not fast without medical supervision:
- Individuals taking diabetes medication (insulin, metformin, sulfonylureas)
- Individuals taking blood pressure medication
- Individuals taking blood thinners
- Individuals with kidney disease
- Individuals with gout
- Individuals with thyroid conditions
If you fall into any of these categories, we require that you consult your healthcare provider before beginning any fasting protocol. We may request confirmation of this consultation before approving your enrollment.
Medication Management
Fasting affects blood glucose, blood pressure, and electrolyte balance. These effects can alter medication requirements. Diabetes medications may need to be reduced or temporarily discontinued. Blood pressure medications may become excessive. Diuretics may increase the risk of dehydration and electrolyte imbalance.
Terra does not provide guidance on medication adjustment. That is the responsibility of your prescribing physician. If your blood glucose drops significantly during fasting, you must break your fast immediately and contact your doctor. Do not adjust your medication without medical supervision.
Monitoring During Fasting
Participants are expected to monitor their own responses during fasting. This includes tracking blood glucose if diabetic, monitoring for symptoms of hypoglycemia, and staying adequately hydrated.
Signs of hypoglycemia include:
- Shakiness or dizziness
- Sweating
- Confusion or difficulty concentrating
- Rapid heartbeat
- Weakness or fatigue
- Blurred vision
If any of these symptoms occur, break your fast immediately. Consume a small amount of easily digestible carbohydrate, such as fruit or juice. If symptoms do not resolve quickly, seek medical attention.
When to Break a Fast
Participants should break their fast immediately if they experience:
- Severe or worsening dizziness
- Confusion or disorientation
- Heart palpitations or irregular heartbeat
- Severe abdominal pain
- Vomiting or inability to keep water down
- Blood glucose below 4.0 mmol/L (if monitoring)
There is no prize for completing a fast that is going badly. Breaking a fast early is not failure. It is responsible self-care. You can always try again another day.
The Two-Hour Wait
The two-hour wait after taking mineral salts is a safety feature, not just a protocol requirement. It allows the salts to be absorbed before any food or broth enters the digestive system. This reduces the risk of digestive distress and ensures that the minerals reach the cells rather than being diluted or bound by food.
Participants who skip the wait may experience bloating, cramping, or nausea. These symptoms are not dangerous but indicate that the sequence is not being followed correctly.
Food Interference
Certain foods interfere with mineral absorption. These include:
- Foods high in phytates (whole grains, legumes, nuts)
- Foods high in oxalates (spinach, beet greens, nuts)
- Dairy products (calcium competes with magnesium and zinc)
- Coffee and tea (tannins bind minerals)
- Industrial seed oils (oxidize and disrupt cell membranes)
The full list of foods to avoid during the program is provided to approved members only. This is not because the information is secret. It is because the list must be used in context. Eliminating these foods without understanding why can lead to unnecessary restriction.
Our No-Refund Policy
Terra does not offer refunds. The program requires commitment, not a trial period. Participants who enroll are expected to complete the three-month protocol. If a participant chooses to stop early, no refund is provided.
This policy exists for two reasons. First, the salts are sourced and shipped specifically for each participant. They cannot be returned or reused. Second, the program is designed for individuals who are ready to commit. Refundability undermines that commitment.
If a participant follows the sequence consistently for three months and sees no measurable improvement, we will work with them to understand what happened. Refunds are not issued, but we do not abandon participants who genuinely engaged with the program and did not get results.
Our Responsibility
Terra takes safety seriously. We have a responsibility to:
- Provide accurate information about the risks and benefits of fasting
- Screen applicants for contraindications
- Decline enrollment when appropriate
- Respond to participant questions about safety concerns
- Update our guidelines as new information becomes available
We do not have a responsibility to:
- Guarantee that fasting is safe for every individual
- Provide medical advice or medication guidance
- Monitor participants in real time
- Assume liability for participants who ignore safety guidelines
Your Responsibility
As a participant, you have a responsibility to:
- Read and understand the safety guidelines before beginning
- Consult your healthcare provider before starting, especially if you are on medication
- Monitor your own responses during fasting
- Break your fast if you experience concerning symptoms
- Follow the sequence as taught, including the two-hour wait
- Disclose accurate health information during eligibility review
Terra is a partnership. We provide the knowledge, the salts, and the support. You provide the commitment and the self-awareness to practice safely.
Reporting Adverse Events
If you experience a serious adverse event during the program, please report it immediately. We will document the event and review our protocols to determine whether changes are needed.
Serious adverse events include hospitalization, severe hypoglycemia requiring medical intervention, significant electrolyte imbalances, or any event that results in lasting harm.
We track adverse events anonymously to identify patterns. Participant privacy is respected. No identifying information is shared.
Continuous Improvement
Our safety protocols are reviewed regularly. As we learn more from participants, we update our guidelines. The eligibility review process has been refined multiple times based on participant feedback and outcomes.
We welcome suggestions for improving safety. If you notice a gap in our guidelines, please contact us. We take all safety concerns seriously.
